New international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response: contributing to the second round of public hearings – WHO

From 9 – 13 September 2022, interested parties, organizations and young people are invited to submit a video statement, in support of the upcoming second round of public hearings with member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the negotiation process for the Pandemic Accord, to strengthen the global pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. The first round of discussions took place in April 2022, with the second round to take place on 29 – 30 September 2022.

Participants are encouraged to submit a video statement in response to the following question:

“Based on your experience with the COVID-19 pandemic, what do you believe should be addressed at the international level to better protect against future pandemics?”.

Statements can be up to 90 seconds in duration and can be submitted in any of the six official WHO languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish). They should be accompanied by a transcript of the statement, written in the language of the video statement.
