The Project
YWCA Malawi, through their “Youth United Against COVID-19” project, is working to reduce the spread of myths and misinformation on COVID-19, by mobilizing young women and community members, to provide people with the tools needed to protect themselves and to reduce the number of infections in their local communities. By engaging local governance structures and organizations using multiple community outreach techniques, young people involved in the project are working with local duty bearers and effectively demand essential hygiene and sanitation materials for schools and markets, in predominantly rural and peri-urban areas through the YWCA centres in Likhubula and Mulanje.
